Presentation and Design
The subject “Acting and Designing” at the Selma-Lagerlöf Secondary School offers a unique opportunity to develop creativity and expressiveness. As a fourth major, it is on an equal footing with the traditional subjects and opens up a space for students where they can try their hand at music.
At the center of “Acting and Designing” is the theater, which, as a diverse art form, forms the basis for the design of lessons. Here the children and adolescents learn how they can represent different roles through body language, facial expressions and gestures. Mostly practical work is done – there is a lot of playing, staging and experimenting. Whether in the design of stage designs, the elaboration of scenes or the development of your own pieces – creativity is always in the foreground.
The special thing about this subject is that it encourages students to grow beyond themselves. You will learn to work in a team, to stand on stage and to develop self-confidence. At the same time, important social skills are promoted, such as empathy, communication and cooperation.
The highlight of the work is the annual NiNuKu (non-only-cultural evening), during which the results of the work in the course are presented publicly. This binding event is also used to find notes.
Presentation and design is a subject that is not only fun, but also imparts important skills that are important far beyond the lessons. It offers a valuable addition to the school offer and is aimed at all those who enjoy creative expression and want to discover the fascination of the theater.
